The week sees the big auctions coming up at Monterey Week. Alongside the Pebble Beach Concours, Laguna Seca Raceway, the Quail etc 2026 sees a return to eight major auctions, including from houses Bonhams, Broad Arrow, Gooding & Co, Mecum, and RM Sotheby’s taking place once again over just four days from the 13 – 17 August.

Whilst the prices for vehicles across our classic car hobby have steadied in recent months, there is no sign of any abatement when it comes to the annual auction fest in California. There are some amazing offerings amongst approaching 1,000 vehicles to go under the hammer. What continues to drive the market? It is the qualities of provenance, history, condition, originality, rarity, and desirability which are key. Make sure you check out some of the trends towards newer automobiles on offer from the US whilst veritable classics still maintain their allure.
